Hit pan?

Use it up!

I thought my tube of concealer was empty, because I could not squeeze out anything. Decided to open it. Didn't like the brush at the top anyway, had already cut the bristles when it was new.

Empty?

No, it was not empty. There were plenty in there. Squeezed it out into a container. Been using it for weeks. Still have loads left in the tube that I digg out with a brush. Don't want to waste it.

Purge

I'm on a mission. The accumulation of beauty products has to stop. In order to do that I want to hit pan on the products I have. Makeup and beauty products does have a shelf life and best by date, so eventually it gets old. Time for project Hit Pan and a Purge of old products.

How about you?
Do you want to use up every drop?
Or can't be bothered?

Nail Polish Storage - Helmer

It was raining the other day so my sister asked me if I wanted to go to IKEA.
First I did not want to go. But then I realised that I could go check out HELMER.
The drawer that other bloggers have for their Nail Polish Collections.
So we went to Kungens Kurva in Skärholmen, south of Stockholm, which is
the home of the largest IKEA store in the world (opened in 1965).

I measured my Nail Polishes so I could see if they would fit in there.
My tallest Polish was 9,5 cm (just under 4 inches). And when I measured
HELMERs drawers at IKEA I saw that my polishes would fit. I was a bit
unsure about my tallest polishes if they would fit. But I only have a few of them.

The side of the drawer is 3,5 Inches, but you have a bit more room up to the top.
Like you can see my Sally Hansen Polish that is just under 4 inches fits in there.

My tallest Nail Polish is the Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield.

I also picked up RATIONELL VARIERA from the kitchen department at IKEA.
It is good to have a rubbery material on the bottom of the drawers so that
the polishes do not glide. I used up just about the entire roll.

My shortest bottles are Elf Nail Polish Bottles (and other various brands).
No problem fitting them in there. But be careful when you pull out the drawers.
If you fill them with polish bottles it will become heavy, so hold on tight.

A bit taller is the Color Club bottles, Konad Special Polish
and IsaDora and they fit perfectly.

China Glaze, Orly  and Savina Bottles goes right in without any problem.
And for your information I did not fill up all of the space.
That means I have room for more polishes. "Smiles"

Assembling HELMER was easy. But I did need a power tool for the wheels.
It was hard doing it by hand. But maybe you can do it if you are strong.

If you are wondering anything about HELMER, just ask.
Where do you keep your Nail Polish Collection?

Bill Clinton in Stockholm

Bill Clinton must have seen my blog posts about the beautiful
city of Stockholm and decided to come over for a visit.
And there to greet him welcome is my husband.

My husband was in Gamla Stan in Stockholm and was wondering
why there was such a big crowd. He just made his way to the front
and there was Bill Clinton. He shook his hand and a friend snapped a photo.

That is the story.

Have you met a Celebrity?

Bill Clinton

William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III; August 19, 1946) is an American politician who served as the 42nd President of the United States (1993–2001). Before that, he was Governor of the state of Arkansas. Inaugurated at age 46, he was the third-youngest president. He took office at the end of the Cold War, and was the first president of the baby boomer generation.

Clinton has been described as a New Democrat. Some of his policies, such as the North American Free Trade Agreementand welfare reform, have been attributed to a centrist Third Way philosophy of governance, while on other issues his stance was left of center. Clinton presided over the continuation of the longest period of peacetime economic expansion in American history. The Congressional Budget Office reported a budget surplus in 2000, the last full year of Clinton's presidency. After a failed attempt at health care reform, Republicans won control of the House of Representatives in 1994, for the first time in forty years. Two years later, in 1996, Clinton was re-elected and became the first member of the Democratic Party since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win a second full term as president. Later he was impeached for perjuryand obstruction of justice in connection with a scandal involving a White House intern, but was subsequently acquitted by theU.S. Senate and served his complete term of office.

Clinton left office with the highest end-of-office approval rating of any U.S. president since World War II. Since then, he has been involved in public speaking and humanitarian work. Based on his philanthropic worldview, Clinton created the William J. Clinton Foundation to promote and address international causes such as treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS and global warming.

In 2004, he released his autobiography My Life, and was involved in his wife Hillary's 2008 presidential campaign and subsequently in that of President Barack Obama. In 2009, he was named United Nations Special Envoy to Haiti. In the aftermath of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Clinton teamed with George W. Bush to form the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.

An Other Day in Stockholm

Kungsträdgården - Stockholm City, Sweden
May 2nd - 2011

Fountain of Wolodarski

In August 1998, a total number of 63 Sakura trees ("Japanese Cherry")
were planted; each spring when they all blossom is an experience of beauty
and scent in the park. Additionally, city architect Alexander Wolodarski
commissioned artist Sivert Lindblom to designed the large bronze urns
now lined-up along the new rectangular fountain. Lindblom has also furnished
the small square Blasieholmstorg just east of the park with Byzantine horses.

Wolodarski's renewal of the park have meet prostest focusing on the "Baroque" scale
and geometry of his design. Others have been critical about the park being "handed-over"
to an entrepreneur – for example[19], the head of the city's garden department
was upset nothing much remains of the park, notwithstanding the park
was even reshaped into a golf course to suite a Mercedez-Benz campaign.

When I was at Kungsträdgården to watch the cherry trees
blossom, it was a cold and gray day. And I had missed the peak
of the blossoms a few days earlier. Now most of the flower petals
was on the ground. But when they are at their best it's all pink
and nice and if the sun is shining it is really beautiful.

The following (5) pictures are taken by a friend
a couple days earlier than my photos,
and she was lucky with the sun.

Here is a list of links to blogs
and sites with beautiful
pictures of the
Sakura Trees
in Perfect bloom.

Kungsträdgården

(Swedish for "King's Garden") is a park in central Stockholm, Sweden.
It is colloquially known as Kungsan.

The park's central location and its outdoor cafés makes it one of
the most popular hangouts and meeting places in Stockholm.
It also hosts open-air concerts and events in summer, while offering
an ice rink during winters. There is also a number of cafés, art galleries
and restaurants; for example Galleri Doktor Glas, a name taken from
the novel Doctor Glas by Hjalmar Söderberg published in 1905.

The park is divided into four distinct spaces (south to north):
(1) Square of Charles XII; (2) Molin's Fountain; (3); Square of Charles XIII and
(4) "Fountain of Wolodarski" (without an official name).

The park is administered and events in it organized by

A Day in Stockholm

Today is a special day for me and my husband.
It is our 2 year wedding anniversary.

I have not been feeling well for the past few days
so we did not go out to eat or anything like that.

Stockholm Waterfront Gongress Centre

We decided to go "Sight seeing" in our own city - Stockholm.
We went past this cool building - Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre.

City Hall
Entrance to City Hall

And we ended up at City Hall and the lovely park they have at the waterfront.
With the sun shining and the love of your life on your side
what can go wrong in a setting like this? - Nothing!

City Hall Park

City Hall Park

Good thing that I had already surprised my Love on Friday.
I just told my husband that we need to go to my mothers place
to help out with spring cleaning outside, and that my whole family
would be there. And we did go there to clear out old junk.

What my husband did not know is that I had asked one of my sisters
to bake a cake (turns out she did 3 - yay). And my brother bought some "bubbly".
And my husband did not know any of this. He was really surprised.

Chocolate with Raspberries

This cake with lime was the best

An other chocolate cake

That week had been so grey and gloomy. But on Friday
the sun came out and it got nice and warm so we all had a
great time cleaning and fixing and eating cake.

Cherry Tree

Have you been to Stockholm?

And you have to ask for the recepies for the cakes if you want them.
