Born Pretty Store Special Polish Review and NOTW

Here comes a review and manicure done with
Special Polish from Born Pretty Store.

My thoughts about Special Polish
from Born Pretty Store

The polish is nice and thick to give an opacue
stamp, with both the Black and White Polish.
There is no weird smell to this polish, smells
just like polish usually does. The polish had an
acrylic paint like feel to it, that was a bit funny. It
did not smear when I applied top coat, so that's a bonus. Not messy at all to remove from the
cuticles. Easy to use other than the image plate
has to be whiped every time after stamping or
the image will not be picked up completely. You
can see that on the stamping I did, some bits of
the Hello Kitty face is missing because I did not
clean the Image Plate every time.

Overall I like this product and would get it again.

The Manicure

As the base color I used Essie - Cocktail Bling. I applied a top
coat over it just in case I made a misstake when stamping, so it would
be easy to carefully whipe it off without ruining the color. Then I stamped,
using both the White and Black Special Polish from Born Pretty Store,
the Hello Kitty Image from M71 Plate also from Born Pretty Store .

"OMG - We'll always have Paris" - NOTD

Have you heard of OMG Nails (MoYou Nail Art)? They sent me a few items
to try out. Two Image Plates (MoYou N08 and N16), Special Black Nail Polish,
a stamper and scraper. MoYou Plates have a paper backing so the edges are
not too sharp but it is good to always handle with care. There is a blue protective
film on the top that you need to remove before you can use the image plates.
The plates are the same size (5,7 cm) as a lot of other well known brands.

My thoughts

The Special Nail Polish has a weird smell, other than that it's good,
get's the job done. Not at all messy to remove from the cuticles. The
image plates work great. I will be getting more of their Image Plates.

However OMG Nails need to work on their stamper and scraper. I did
not get the image to transfer on to the stamper. I buffed it but could not
get it to work. But I found an other use for it, to distress paper with ink to
make it look old. The plastic scraper is too soft, the edge was uneven.

UPDATE!
I did some further testing of the stamper. And it seems that the trouble
is with this particular image of the Eiffel Tower on MoYou Image Plate N16
(and possibly others with similar fine lines). On other images with larger
areas the stamper work fine. And it also works with other brand polishes.

Boohoo I broke a nail

The Manicure

I started out with a basecolor, Essence Color & Go - 79 Viva la Green.
Then I applied striping tape to my nails and sponged the tips with white
polish. I removed the striping tape and stamped the Eiffel Tower and part
of the American flagg from MoYou N16. Sealed it with Top Coat.

OMG Nails have new Image Plates coming out soon. You can check
them out on their Facebook Page or Website: moyounails.co.uk

Polish for Fall and Winter

I'm sorry for the lack of polish posts on my blog. I've been fighting a cold,
or whatever it is. And I have not been up to much posting, still not  feeling my
best. But anyways I have a gorgeous color for fall and winter to show you.

BK fashion Polish - #18 from Born Pretty Store is a deep burgundy
red. I added stamping in a similar color to it using China Glaze - Joy and
the Born Pretty Store Image Plate M71, the one with Hello Kitty on it.

KKCenterHk Image Plate Review and Manicure

KKCenterHk was nice enough to send me an Image Plate to try out and review.
I did a sponging manicure and stamped the cat image from the N.Nail B114 plate.
But first some words about theKKCenterHk N.Nail Image Plate and what I think of it.

The Image Plate

The N.Nails B114 image plate is of the same size as other well known
brands (5,6cm). It does not have a protective backing so you have to be
careful when handling this plate as the edges can be sharp. Don't forget
to remove the thin plastic protective film on the top before stamping.

My thoughts

The images are etched a tad bit too deep/wide. Which means that
the stamped image will be a bit blurred. And that is because the image
contains so much polish. You can see that in the cat's face in some of the
stampes. On my ringfinger you can see the result of a double stamp with
black. Somewhat thinner lines, not a mess, but not a complete look.

Products I used and how I did it

I started out with 2 coats of e.l.f - Smokin Hot. After it dried I sponged
e.l.f -Smoking Hot and A-England - Camelot, with the polishes applied
half and half on the sponge. I sponged until I was pleased with the result.
To smooth out the somewhat gritty surface I applied Orly - Polishield.

For the stamping I used Konad Special Polish in Orange and Black with the
KKCenterHk Image Plate B114 or as it is called on the KKCenterHk website:
sealed the design with a thick coat of Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat.

Tutorial using Born Pretty Store Items

This is my first time using dried flowers. And it was not as hard as I thought
it would be. You do have to be patient when working with dried flowers as they
are delicate and somewhat fragile, otherwise you will risk ruining them. I have
put together a Step-By-Step Picture Tutorial on how I achieved this manicure.

BK - 21 (ID: 1062) from Born Pretty Store and Bourjois - Rose Lounge

Base and Color

First I applied a base coat to my nails. Then I painted my thumb and ringfinger
as accent nails with two coats of BK Fashion Nail Polish - 21 (ID: 1062) from
Born Pretty Store and the others with 2 coats of Bourjois - 28 Rose Lounge.

BM-310 and Max Factor - Angel Nails

Stamping

And at this point, when the polish was dry I applied Top Coat. Next step
was to add delicate shimmery stamping to pointer, middle and pinky. I did
this with Bundle Monster BM-310 using Max Factor - 882 Angel Nails.

Dried Flower Wheel (ID: 3809) from Born Pretty Store

Dried Flowers

To use a whole flower from the Dried Flower Wheel (ID: 3809)
from Born Pretty Store would have been a bit too big for my nails so
cut them carefully in half. I flipped the flower upside down to see where
the center was so I could cut right in the middle. To adhere the flowers
to my nails I used Nail Foil Adhesive. I applied the glue and waited a
few minutes for it to become tacky. used a manicure stick to press
down the flowers and added adhesive to where it was needed.

French Tips

When the flowers was pressed down I applied french tips with the
After that it was time to seal it in with 2 coats of Top Coat over it.

Photoo taken in a light tent using Artificial Lighting.

The BK Fashion Nail Polish - 21 (ID: 1062) is vibrant nail polish as it has
both Red and Silver shimmery particles. To get a smooth shiny surface apply
Top Coat. The Dried Flower Wheel (ID: 3809) has small flowers in various
colors, there's 3 of each. Photos taken in Natural Light if not otherwise noted.

Glitter for a Cause

Laser Glitters from KKCenterHk

As I missed to post my Teal Manicure... Here comes a combined post:
Teal Manicure for Ovarian Cancer and Pink Manicure for Breast Cancer.

Teal for Ovarian Cancer

No one in my family is suffering from Cancer. But I have
people around me that do. My thoughts go out to them.

Polishes used in Teal for Ovarian Cancer:

I painted my nails with BK Holographic Nail Polish - 09. And then
did a small portion of the tips with Hits Speciallità No Olimpo - Hera.
I stamped my nails with Bundle Monster Image Plate BM-321 using
first China Glaze - Aquadelic and then stamped a second time with
Konad Special Polish - White. Applied N.Nail 0.2mm Laser Glitter
in the color LB701, on my pointer, with Nail Foil Adhesive. And N.Nail
1mm Laser Glitter in the color LB701 I applied on the tips of my nails
using Top Coat. Both glitters from KKCenterHk. Sealed with Top Coat.

Pink for Breast Cancer

Polishes used in  Pink for Breast Cancer:

I started out by painting my thumb and ringfinger with two coats of
A England - Iseult. On the rest of the nails I did a french manicure
using Iseult and applied Revlon - 099 Effervescent Opal over them.
re-applied Iseult on the tips for a more vibrant result. Ringfinger and
thumb got a few N.Nail 3mm Laser Glitters applied on them, from
KKCenterHk.. On the other nails I stamped the "Awareness Ribbon"
with Fab Ur Nails Plate - Fun 1 using KleanColor - Metallic Red.
Lastly 2 thick coats of Seche Vite so that the hex would get covered.
