Black and White Roses - NOTD

Todays manicure is really simple. It looks like it is stamped,
it is not. Applies really quick and easy with no mess. For those
that find stamping difficult this is an option - waterdecals.

I started out with Essence - Better Late Than Never as the base
color. After I had applied top coat I cut up the decals I was going to
use and put them in water for a few seconds. I used small tweezers to
pick up the decals from the water. Then it is just to slide the decals
into place and dab off water with tissue and seal with a Top Coat.

The rose decals I have bought from Viva La Nails and they
have lots of Nail Art related items that you can check out HERE.

Tutorial using Born Pretty Store Items

This is my first time using dried flowers. And it was not as hard as I thought
it would be. You do have to be patient when working with dried flowers as they
are delicate and somewhat fragile, otherwise you will risk ruining them. I have
put together a Step-By-Step Picture Tutorial on how I achieved this manicure.

BK - 21 (ID: 1062) from Born Pretty Store and Bourjois - Rose Lounge

Base and Color

First I applied a base coat to my nails. Then I painted my thumb and ringfinger
as accent nails with two coats of BK Fashion Nail Polish - 21 (ID: 1062) from
Born Pretty Store and the others with 2 coats of Bourjois - 28 Rose Lounge.

BM-310 and Max Factor - Angel Nails

Stamping

And at this point, when the polish was dry I applied Top Coat. Next step
was to add delicate shimmery stamping to pointer, middle and pinky. I did
this with Bundle Monster BM-310 using Max Factor - 882 Angel Nails.

Dried Flower Wheel (ID: 3809) from Born Pretty Store

Dried Flowers

To use a whole flower from the Dried Flower Wheel (ID: 3809)
from Born Pretty Store would have been a bit too big for my nails so
cut them carefully in half. I flipped the flower upside down to see where
the center was so I could cut right in the middle. To adhere the flowers
to my nails I used Nail Foil Adhesive. I applied the glue and waited a
few minutes for it to become tacky. used a manicure stick to press
down the flowers and added adhesive to where it was needed.

French Tips

When the flowers was pressed down I applied french tips with the
After that it was time to seal it in with 2 coats of Top Coat over it.

Photoo taken in a light tent using Artificial Lighting.

The BK Fashion Nail Polish - 21 (ID: 1062) is vibrant nail polish as it has
both Red and Silver shimmery particles. To get a smooth shiny surface apply
Top Coat. The Dried Flower Wheel (ID: 3809) has small flowers in various
colors, there's 3 of each. Photos taken in Natural Light if not otherwise noted.

Daytime look using Coastal Scents Products

A picture tutorial using Hot Pot Eyeshadows, 6 Countour
Blush Palette and Makeup Brushes from Coastal Scents.

Peach Puff and Chamois Nude

With a large flat shader brush I applied Peach Puff first and then Chamois
Nude under my brow and using a pencil brush the same colors on the lower lid.

Applying Peach Puff and Chamois Nude under my brow and lower lid.

Victoran Pear and Spiceberry

Using a flat shader brush I applied Victorian Pear on the center
of my eyelid. With a fluffy crease brush I applied Spiceberry in the
crease and on the outer corner of the lower lid with a pencil brush.

Applying Spiceberry in the crease and lover lid.

Vanilla Sky and Black Berry

Using a pencil brush Vanilla Sky was applied to the inner corner to brighten up the
eyes, and with a flat shader brush as a hightlight under the highest point of the brow.

Applying Vanilla Sky as a Higlight under the brow
and Blackberry in the outer corner to intensify the look.

To darken up the outer corner of the eyelids I used Black Berry and
flat shader brush. I curled my lashes and instead of a khol pencil or
any kind of liner I used Black Berry on the lash line for softer look.

Applying Black Berry to the lash line

The reason why I curl my lashes prior to applying any liner, is that I want to get as
close to the lashline as possible with the curler. And I have noticed that the liner gets
smudged if I curl my lashes after applying liner, and then I would re-apply anyways.

6 Contour Blush Palette

I contoured my cheeks and face blending the dark brown from the
6 Contour Blush Palette and the peachy shade next to it. As blush
I used the dusty rose color on the other side of the dark brown.

Contouring and applying blush

What I love about the 6 Contour Blush Palette is that all the shades
are matte. I don't care too much about any shimmery contour products
or blushes with heavy glitter or shimmer. So this palette is perfect for me.
If I want a hint of shimmer I can easily add that ontop of these shades.

Two Makeup Brushes, 6 Contour Blush Palette, Hot Pot Palette (except 4 Hot Pot Eyeshadows and a
Free Sample of Mineral Eye Shadow)
was sent for review and tutorial purpose from Coastal Scents.

Gosh, I got Polish!

Gosh - (No Label), Special Edition Gosh - 612 Galaxy and Gosh - 008 Berry Me

My first GOSH nail polishes. These are great colors for fall. Using
GOSH Special Edition - 008 Berry Me and 612 Galaxy and a GOSH
polish where the lable is missing I did a Tape Manicure. Very easy polish
to work with that dries fast and has a good brush. Levels out nicely when
applied. All three polishes only needs a couple of coats to be opaque.
With the military green polish you can probably get away with one coat
on shorter nails. The berry color is not a jelly but not a creme eather.

You have probably heard of Nail Art Stencils. I was thinking that
why can't I make my own using Paper Punchers. I have three shapes,
heart, star and butterfly. I didn't feel the butterly would go with the colors.
I went with the star and heart, even thought you can probably free hand
them, as wanted to try out something new, and see if it works.

I started this manicure by painting my nails and letting them dry
completelyWith the heart- and star-tape, that I had prepared, applied
on my nails polished over the tape and waited a few seconds before I
carefully removed itI also outlined the hearts and stars with polish using
thin nail art brush. I used the tip of the heart to get a pointed corner.

GOSH - Galaxy is interesting with its blackened base
color and different color shimmers in copper, gold, purple,
fuschia and I even saw green shimmer in some lighting.

What do I think of GOSH Nail Polish?
I like them, and would definitely recommend them to others.
My only regret is that I have not tried them earlier. They are easy
to use and dry quickly. I did not have any issues when using them.

Easy to do Striping Manicure

This post includes a YouTube Tutorial and Swatches
of Orly - Lucky Duck and also what is coming up soon.

For this Mancure I used Orly Lucky Duck as the base color and then
applied the tapes. But do wait long enough for the polish to dry and don't
rush it like me. Or you will be stuck with tape coming off on the polish. Then
I applied one layer of Orly - Le Chateau and started peeling off the striping
tapes. I wanted to decorate the nails with some Black Hexagons. But you
can use whatever you like. Rhinestones or just do dotts with polish. I used
hexagons cause I have them so I want to use them. Apply Top Coat - DONE!

Swatches of Orly - Lucky Duck. 2 coats. You can
get away with just one. But for the photos I did two.

Lucky Duck is From the "Birds of a Feather" Collection. I have
three of the polishes and I will be showing you swatches of the
other two in an other post. This is getting long enough as it is.

3 Polishes from "Birds of a Feather" Collection
Orly - Lucy Duck, Nite Owl and Fowl Play

Orly - Le Chateau is from the "Holiday Soiree"
Collection. But more on that in an other blog post.

Lazy Water Marble - TUTORIAL

Ok Ladies. Here is the promised Tutorial on
Lazy Water Marble from this post I made HERE.

I just want to mention that I did not come up with this idea.
I have seen this been done over at More Nail Polish and it is
a version of "Dry Water Marble" when you do all the steps on
plastic. And I think Colette over at My Simple Little Pleasures
does "swatches" on her Water Marble Creations just to see
what they look like before she does them on her nails.

And I think this is a great way of doing Water Marble,
but with out the big mess and clean up. So I wanted
to share this with you. And make a Video tutorial.
Been neglecting my YouTube for too long.

Criticism/Input Please!

Is there anything I should have added to the Video?
Should I make a Step-By-Step Picture Tutorial for the Blog?
Or is the Video enough?
What should I think of for my next YouTube Video?
How long should a Video be?

Alien Embryo Nail Art

China Glaze - Peace on Earth
China Glaze - Peace on Earth
I don't like this polish much. Because it is "Brush Strokes Galore".
Had it for a long time, not used it much. I was hoping that I could
do konading with this over green. But no! Maybe I'll try frankening.
I don't remember if this was 2 or 3 coats. At least 2.

Had to come up with something to cover up the brush strokes.
Sponged La Femme Beauty - Ultra Green along the center of the nail
using a sponge tip applicator (from an elf eye shadow quad).

Wanted to brighten it up some more and
sponged with La Femme Beauty - Ultra Yellow

Picked out Bundle Monster plate BM-213
and Konad Black Pearl to stamp with.

Sponged Orly - Halleys Comet over the print.
Topped it with Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat.

Tested the idea on plastic first. Looked a lot better on there that on the nail.
Well well... We live - we learn. Can't be perfect all the time.

 What do you guys think?
