Sponged Gradient - NOTD

With polishes from my Epic Polish Haul I wanted to try out the "NEW" way of

sponging. I did a search and found a method that The Nailasaurus shows HERE.
All I can say is that this manicure sure got a lot of attention and stares from people.

Essence - Chilled Orange and Lounge Chair Affair
MeMeMe - Vivacious and Savina - Purple Prince

Here's how I did it:

I started out with a base coat and a layer of white polish. This so that

the colors would "pop". Then I painted my nails with the lightest color

Essence "Soul Sista" - Chilled Orange. Following the steps in

The Nailasaurus post using the lightest color and the remaning colors

Essence "Soul Sista" - Lounge Chair Affair, MeMeMe - Vivacious

and Savina - Purple Prince I dabbed my nails with a cosmetic sponge.

Because sponging makes the nails a bit bumpy I applied a couple of coats

of a thicker topcoat to smooth out the surface. I mattified one of my nails.

I fell in love with the matte nail. How about you... Do you like it shiny or matte?
